Reseach

After looking at some other furniture and just office furniture site i realize that I am probably going to leave out the buying process out of my site, and just show completed work through a gallery.

Furniture.com this is the first site that I looked at. It is a bedroom and living room furniture site but I still thought that I could get some useful information like color schemes and how to display different types of information.

Ashley Furniture is another home furniture company that I look at for some design help. I really like on their home page they have image of there furniture that changes every few seconds. I dont really like the orange color

Office Furniture this site is really well done i like the featured Categories and the best sellers on the home page but i don’t really know if i will be able to add it to my site yet.

GF Office i really like this site the blue and white colors are really relaxing and its not complex very simple that is what i would like for my site.

For my final project I was thinking about making a website for Custom furniture company from San Antonio. The company name is JDL Custom and they have made furniture from school to businesses. They do work in bulk or single pieces. So i would have to find a way to separate the two customers, and be a able to show the customers what their options are for what they want.

I still need to contact the company to get more information about what he would want and need in a site to help the buying and selling process flow easier.

The five topics that I would like to go over in this class would be learning more about CSS and XHTLM. I dont think I know much about XHTML and XML at all.  Other subjects that I that I would like to cover would be.

1. Cascading Style Sheets

2. Being able to create a nice looking portfolio page

3. Learning how to use floated layouts better with my designs.

4. linking style sheets

5. Knowing the guide lines of the World Wide Web consortium

I agree that imagery is not always necessary  is  design  as we learn in typography class designing with only text. But its not a bad thing either, using it in consideration with a project can help deepen the meaning if its worked in well. Choosing the correct text is always hard for me to do. So the process that he describes will be pretty helpful to me in the future.
