After looking at some other furniture and just office furniture site i realize that I am probably going to leave out the buying process out of my site, and just show completed work through a gallery.

Furniture.com this is the first site that I looked at. It is a bedroom and living room furniture site but I still thought that I could get some useful information like color schemes and how to display different types of information.

Ashley Furniture is another home furniture company that I look at for some design help. I really like on their home page they have image of there furniture that changes every few seconds. I dont really like the orange color

Office Furniture this site is really well done i like the featured Categories and the best sellers on the home page but i don’t really know if i will be able to add it to my site yet.

GF Office i really like this site the blue and white colors are really relaxing and its not complex very simple that is what i would like for my site.

  1. looks like you have an idea of what your competitors are doing. The only concern is the 20 page limit you need to make. I wouldn’t rule out a wishlist just yet.

  2. Ok, so I think the first link is crap, the Ashley Furniture one is “Ok” if they got rid of that opaque “A” out from under the text. The last 2 are clean, my favorite though is “Office Furniture”. Just the right amount of content, and a good grid make this site a success in my eyes. Also, the thumbnails make me want to explore and possibly buy stuff. I am in the need for a new office chair, so i have been looking at Office Supply store websites too! This might be a tough project Michael, but you can do it man.

  3. Some interesting sites and I like your finding aspects of features that would work for you. I wanted to say also that you can put the idea of e-commerce into the site with forms and screens that simply link and demonstrate the design of the “buy” pages and perhaps add the e-commerce backend stuff when you get to those classes.

Also, the final project in this class is 15 pages now, although when you turn it in for portfolio it needs to be 20 minimum.
