The links below are a few site that I found over the topic that I am planning to do my project over. Some of them are better than the others but all give me good examples and interesting ideas how to organize different information on the site.

I have changed my mind i would like to do my eLearning site over the periodic table. Technologies that I am planning on using are HTML & CSS and areas of flash.

This site has a nice flash app that is you would like to see you will need to download it. But I a cool periodic table that is good eLearning example thats different from the rest.

Rubyforge on Canvas

I like the way the they are showing several different example and the source code for each one. Also they show a lot of extra details about each example.

Canvas Cheat Sheet
I like the idea of having some sort of a cheat sheet for whatever the project might be over

Canvas Tutorial
This is just a basic tutorial but it give you alot of good information as well as example after almost every step

Painting Tutorial
This is another tutorial but it is focused on a specific project

Video
This is a video eLearning page that I found that I thought was a really good example because in the video it explains a lot about what they are trying to teach

  1. Those are pretty cool websites. I particularly liked the last site with the video, I really think that is a good way to get the point across. The other sites seem a bit code intensive, and if you are going to go that route, I would break it up in pieces and show examples after each step is done.

  2. I got lost on several of the sites, I think I just didn’t take the time to really look at them when I saw all of the code. I know that’s not the best attitude to have in our field, but there it is. I think that if you are going to have a lot of scripting in your site you should think of ways to break it up or simplify it. (but I guess that depends on what your target market is.)

The images in the paint tutorial were cool. I think you have to make sure you explain how every line of the code works.

The video was cool and definitely a great way to help get the information across. If you have the time, you might think about incorporating something like that into your site.

  3. Thanks for putting up these sites! I learned something new today just by checking out these sites. I loved the first one and seeing the code really helps. Even though the site was pretty straight forward the examples were fun and interesting. It seems like you really enjoy sites that let you manipulate the example. How do you think you’re going to do that with the periodic table? It could be fun to have people be able to calculate the number of protons, neutrons, and electrons and see what element they create.

  4. I liked the sites you put up, there is a lot more information on them than I thought. I liked the canvas site you put up. But I think the strongest site is the one witht he video, because it incorporates more than way of social learning, and thats what this course is all about. So in terms of strenths for what we are researching and building, thats why I say that is the strongest.
