I just found this site today and the couple of articles and videos that I have looked through had some very helpful information about the web.
HTML Emails
The video that I watched was pretty interesting and easy to follow along with. It starts you from the beginning and explains why he is doing things a certain way instead of showing you how to do it. Its not just a basic text tutorial it uses screencasting and I think that he does it pretty well. He also references a couple of different sites that you could visit to learn more HTML emails. These site are linked above the video so that you dont have to go back into the video to write down the link.
All in all I this that this was a good e-learning experience and can be used as a good example to look at when creating a screencasting video tutorial.

Yea screen casting I think is an excellent way to show people exactly what you are doing rather than just trying to type it out and explain it in words. It also gives you the opportunity to voice over and talk to the user and explain exactly why you are doing what you are doing. It enables you to combine multiple elements of e-learning and apply them to the same material for the user to be able to learn in a variety of ways.
I think screen casting is probably the best way to teach code. But screen casting is not enough, and audio is a must if you want to connect with users. I like when someone else has had the same problem with code as I have, and it helps with your confidence as well as learning.
